Four years after a 20-year-old man was reported missing, Sackville RCMP continue to investigate the disappearance of Chris Metallic, and police officers will conduct new searches in the Sackville area in the coming days in hopes of getting more information that could help find him.
Chris Metallic was reported missing on November 25, 2012, following a party at a residence in Sackville. A few days after his disappearance, footwear belonging to him was located off the Haute-Aboujagane Road.
Chris Metallic is described as aboriginal, measuring 6 feet tall, and weighing about 180 lbs at the time of his disappearance. He has short, dark black hair and was last seen wearing a shiny bright blue sweater and jeans.
“We continue to receive information about the disappearance of Chris Metallic,” says Sgt. Paul Gagné with the Sackville RCMP. “By conducting these new searches we will be following up on some of that information in order to see if it provides any more information about what happened to Chris.”
Police are asking the public if they see police in a particular area to stay away from the search area so as not to disturb any possible evidence or disrupt the plans set out for the search.
Since 2012, RCMP have used police dogs and a police helicopter to search in and around the town of Sackville, as well as the Haute-Aboujagane Road area. Ground search and rescue teams have also assisted, and the RCMP’s underwater dive team has searched the Tantramar River.
